1. What is BigBlue POWAFREE H3?
2. What are the differences between the POWAFREE H3 and the previous model H1?
The main differences between POWAFREE H3 and the first generation H1, are in battery capacity, design and waterproof levels. The H3 features a battery capacity of 1024Wh and a 2-in-1 design, integrating the PV hub and battery into a single unit. In contrast, the H1 has a larger battery capacity of 2048Wh but utilizes a separated PV hub and battery setup.
3. How can I access real-time data on the power generated by the POWAFREE system?
Advanced features, controls, and device information of POWAFREE Balcony Solar; like your power consumption, storage capacity, and panel productivity to name a few, can be accessed in real-time from BigBlue ’s custom-specified app – ‘BigBlue Energy’ over a Wi-Fi connection.
4. How can I control the generated power via the App?
There are three operating modes available:
Self-Storage: Prioritize power storage (to the battery). Select this option if you want to prioritize charging the POWAFREE H3 until it reaches the charging limit. In this mode, the H3 will not discharge to the microinverter/grid.
Self-Consumption: Prioritize power supply (to the grid). Select this option if you want to prioritize meeting the power consumption of the home. In this mode, all solar input will be directed to microinverter/grid.
Customization: Set your preferences based on time frames and wattage values. This mode allows you to tailor the energy distribution to match your specific needs.
5. I have had my solar panel system installed and would like to store the extra generated power in a battery system. Can I pair it with POWAFREE H3?
Yes, you can pair your solar panel system with the POWAFREE Balcony Solar as long as it meets the specification requirements for the POWAFREE H3. Specifically:
- The solar panel's open circuit voltage (Voc) should be within 16V to 60V. It's recommeded that the closed-circuit current for a single PV input should not exceed 24A.
- The microinverter’s PV input voltage should be within 16V to 58V. For optimal performance, we recommend using microinverters from APsystems.
Note: Input voltage that exceeds the specified range can cause permanent damage to the POWAFREE H3.
6. Can I connect several solar panels to POWAFREE H3?
Yes. The POWAFREE H3 features two distinct groups of solar inputs. Each with 100-400W per channel, with an open circuit voltage spanning from 12V to 65V. It's important not to surpass this voltage range.
7. Can the POWAFREE H3 operate in the wintertime?
Thanks to the revolutionary and ground-breaking BigBlue’s Complementary Optimization technology, the POWAFREE H3 continues to dis/charge even in below-freezing conditions when faced with extremely cold temperatures.
8. What is the expected lifespan of the POWAFREE H3?
The POWAFREE H3, equipped with a LiFePO4 battery, is designed with a lifespan of approximately 10 years, depending on usage and maintenance. The battery is rated for 4000+ charge cycles while retaining up to 80% of its original capacity.
